2008 in full force!!We're finally gearing up for some new shows and new songs! Triprocket will be performing their first electric gig in over two years on April 5, when they'll do a 90-minute set at the Deep Ellum Arts Festival in Dallas. Catch them at the Deep Ellum Stage (corner of Hall and Main) at 11:30am. Trirpocket did a brief set the last weekend in March, and brought into the fold Flint Vasher on bass. look for him to join Triprocket on more gigs in June.
2006 in review, with a glimpse of 20072006 saw Triprocket taking a near-sabbatical - performing very few shows and writing even less. Bobby finished work on FruitCake-SuperBeing's second album, while his outside production schedule increased. John revived his solo project, JohnInmanNetwerk, and has been performing of late. This year Triprocket will be writing new material and creating new alliances to bring a fresh approach to our sound. Our new recoding studio shouldl be complete in August, and we hope to be back on stage in the spring. Stay tuned...
R.I.P. - Jonnee FlashThe current and former members of !DANCeReGINA! (some of whom went on to form Triprocket) celebrate the life and mourn the death of one of our own. former guitarist, Jonnee Flash, died in February of 2005 from diabetes complications, which he contracted in 1994. It was, in fact, his illness that forced him to leave the band in 1996. as he could not physically endure the heavy touring schedule at the time. But those fans who followed !DANCeReGINA!’s infancy remember the flailing, esoteric energy that Jonnee provided onstage on a regular basis, providing the “industrial” edge to those early band recordings he penned such as “Keep On Keepin’ On” and “Haus Command”. As his websites reveal, he was also a very talented graphic artist and had a wild and insightful sense of humor. After he left the band, he continued to record under several pseudonyms – finally accepting the official moniker of Felix Furlow. Though his professional metamorphosis revealed artistic growth, it would often come at a cost to his personal life. He continuously battled with the necessity of living any part of a normal existence. To Felix, these were “mundane” aspects of everyday life, and should never stand in the way of his creativity. Normalcy was rarely permitted into his life, and it was often to the detriment of his mental and physical well-being. This resulted in the “tortured artist effect” that so many creative people suffer from, and it would prove to be the ultimate price that Felix had to pay for being a an extremely intelligent and creative being. We continued to be in close contact with Felix, as he produced several remixes for the Triprocket’s “Putty In Their Hands” album, and performed an outstanding solo set in 2004 at Minc Lounge in Dallas. His diverse talents and eclectic lifestyle were always evident. He will truly be missed.
